The “V” Necklace and Set

Hello there!!

It’s sooo good to be back from my first total break/hiatus from VeruDesigns!

Ok. We’ve got lots of catching up to do. But first, to those of you who have sent e-mails, left private messages on facebook and instagram …thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve missed you too. I really did.

What have we been up to?!

I’ve been traveling quite a bit for personal reasons. My family was going through lots of changes back at home. So, my husband and I made the executive decision to slow down both of our businesses (CultureSpots and VeruDesigns) for a few weeks, so that we could travel to South America and be there for them.

This of course coincided with two other big things happening at VeruDesigns: First, as a result of our lovely exposure in Turkey and France via Marie Claire Magazine in May and June, our custom orders suddenly multiplied like crazy, and I began to get all kinds of invitations to participate in different exhibits, shows, fairs, fashion installations, all around the country. And!! All this, during the one time (in my short VeruDesigns life) that I’m taking a break and am experiencing a creativity blockage. Yikes!

Long story short: In regards to all our unexpected new orders, fortunately most clients were not just very understanding, but flexible, and agreed to adjust their expectations to my realistic production schedule between now and february of 2017. In terms of the invitations VeruDesigns received, I was able to salvage a few and had to be ok with letting go of the rest. There are a handful of events that I will be participating in, that I hope to share with you soon.

Such is life, isn’t it? When it rains it pours! (just NOT at the right time… oh well! 😉 )

So that’s it in a nutshell.

We arrived back last Friday, and what you’ll see below is the very first custom set completed, that is being shipped as I type this.

The “V” necklace (V for VeruDesigns, plus set of earrings and cuffs), was made using my own custom mokugame technique, over bronzed brass. By comparison to most of my pieces, it is quite simple, but also sophisticated.

The set was created for one of my most beloved clients. A loyal VeruDesigns supporter who never hesitates in making us part of many of the special moments in her life.  The “V” shaped necklace is a one-of-a-kind that I don’t plan to repeat again in the near future.

The necklace has two wearable sides, with slightly different designs.

The earrings were just a final touch to complete the set.

Packaging, is of course as important as everything else. A very good friend of mine brought me a beautiful wax-based seal from the Netherlands, that allows me to customize the personalized messages for each client even more!

Anyway. That’s it. Simple but beautiful. 🙂

So, what do you think?! I’d LOVE to read your thoughts/comments/questions in the section below.

Stay well, stay happy and stay healthy. See you in two weeks !!
