First, let me briefly welcome the new friends and subscribers that are receiving this newsletter for the first time: THANK YOU SO MUCH for your beautiful support. It’s an absolute honor to have you read these words, and join me in celebrating something very special today.

This book was born from a vision that Lucie had, to create a carefully curated publication presenting the most leading-edge works of polymer art, for the purpose of both, showcasing the incredible talent of a new generation of artist whose diverse backgrounds and countries of origin are as beautiful, rich and unique as the art they make. And secondly, share with our worldwide community an amazing collection of tutorials for anybody to learn from and enjoy.
This is part of a larger mission to increase not just a global awareness of our medium (polymer clay), particularly within the established art communities, but ELEVATE our medium to be recognized in these very institutions that have such meaningful influence in the art world globally.
And this is of course EXTRA SPECIAL, because VeruDesigns is part of this select group of 27 artists that were asked to be part of this publication.
I’m very excited to share with you a tutorial on how to make this gorgeous statement necklace:
This necklace was conceived specifically for this book.
I wanted to share a tutorial that not only would enable you to create something absolutely stunning, but would also reveal some of both, my thinking/philosophy when making art, and also a few of the KEY components that hide underneath the 3D details of my work.
I’m incredibly free in my creative process, and I would encourage you to allow yourself to be and feel loose when you begin a work of art. My most humble advice to you, is this:
If you feel inspired to buy this book and get your hands dirty with this beautiful medium, it is quite likely that you already are an Artist inside.
Your journey is not just about learning new skills, but practicing the art of ALLOWING yourself to follow your own intuition in every step of creation.
In other words, look at my tutorial, or any tutorial for that matter, as “guidance”, as a gentle “suggestion” on how to express yourself, but do not hold on to them with tightness as if they were “THE WAY” for you to create something.
Look at our tutorials as inspiration for awakening that artist that is already inside of you ready to come out.
