Lucie Štruncová – Polymer Week Magazine (and a tutorial)

Happy TUESDAY beautiful!

This has been the looongest hiatus I’ve had from VeruDesigns since 2015 (to be precise, I skipped ALL of July!).

There is a powerful and life-changing reason for this that I will disclose to you 100% in September. But not today.

Today is not about moi.

Today’s post is dedicated to a beautiful woman that is having some serious positive impact on the polymer clay community worldwide.

Meet Lucie Štruncová.

  • (My statistics tell me that 30% of VeruDesigns’ subscribers are polymer clay lovers. If you’re part of this group then you’re probably familiar with her work. But the remaining 70% of you who are art supporters but not part of the polymer clay world, Lucie is someone you ABSOLUTELY WANT to know about).

Lucie is a young artist, entrepreneur, innovator, trailblazer, getter-doner(!) from Plzen (Check Republic) who has chosen to apply her many talents to become one of the most powerful leaders and supporters of the polymer clay community. She does so in two ways:

  • LUCYCLAYSTORE: By advancing the way we work with polymer, through new technology and innovation in tools, making polymer clay a more approachable medium for artists of all skill levels, AND enabling us to create art at a whole new level of beauty and precision.
    • Make sure to visit LUCYCLAYSTORE to get the most leading-edge and approachable tools available in the market today. AND! visit her facebook page HERE to stay up to date with the newest in clay technology).

  • POLYMER WEEK MAGAZINE: A magazine dedicated to elevating how our medium is perceived within the arts community all over the world, and cultivating a true community of polymer artists and fans alike.

If you haven’t heard of the POLYMER WEEK, this (gorgeous!) magazine is available both in print and online. A carefully curated edition of the absolute best tutorials out there, beautifully shown and explained by some of the most sought-after polymer artists in the world. We also get a chance to “meet” some of our favorite artists beyond the veil of art alone and much more.

As a working artist myself, here are 3 things I feel we can all take inspiration from Lucie:

  1. She managed to create a business based on her passions while being of service to something larger than herself.
  2. She did so by making it profit-based, becoming an example of an artist making a living as an entrepreneur, while also making a positive difference in the world.
  3. She understands the power and beauty in supporting other artists. Polymer WEEK focuses strongly on creating a spotlight on all those artists that are doing remarkable work.

How can anybody NOT want to be part of what she’s doing?

When Lucie asked me to share a step-by-step tutorial on how to make one of my most popular bridal necklaces, I couldn’t refuse.  As you probably know, my work does not focus on teaching, so this was definitely different for me.

The “ROSE GARDEN” necklace, is a beautiful piece that you can absolutely make yourself.

The tutorial had to be structured in up to 21 steps MAX, which (as every artist will tell you) is hard to do, but we did it. 21 straightforward steps from pieces of clay to a beautiful bridal necklace. Despite it being a fairly simple tutorial, it absolutely helps if you have some experience working with polymer (mixing and blending colors and so on).

That aside, I promise that you’ll LOVE the results.

To get my (first-time-ever) step-by-step tutorial on how to make this (or an even a more beautiful!) necklace, make sure to order your copy of the SUMMER edition of the POLYMER WEEK MAGAZINE, available here:
